Job Title: Manager, Nurse Education Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursing Education Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7AM Hours per Shift: 4x10 or 5x8, must be flexible for both Experience: Critical care, Med Surg, Stepdown experience required License: Registered Nurse with current registration in Client Certifications: ACLS and BLS required. ONS Chemotherapy Administration Certification required if assigned to oncology. Must-Have: - Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing or a Master's degree in Nursing or related Healthcare field with experience in Nursing Education and/or Nursing Leadership. - Demonstrated competence and progressive experience in Education and Management/Administration in the clinical specialty assigned. - Excellent organizational skills. Description: Leads nursing practice using the tenets of the Professional Practice Model of Relationship Centered Care. Promotes the patient experience through effective care delivery. Projects and cultivates a professional image to colleagues. Communicates caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and trust. Incorporates ethical principles into the decision-making process for patients and families. Fosters a spirit of scholarship, inquiry, lifelong learning, and innovation for self and others. Disseminates knowledge and skills relevant to the role and patient population. Serves as a professional role model and preceptor for new staff and students. Articulates and integrates the values of research and evidence-based practice. Contributes to the profession of nursing through leadership and participation in professional organizations. Demonstrates proficiency in all aspects of Hourly Care Checks and role models expected behaviors. Ensures the integration of Care Checks into clinical activities to enhance Relationship Centered Care. Validates staff competency in Care Checks and provides consistent meaningful feedback. Communicates quantitative and qualitative information regarding the patient experience. Collaborates with nursing leadership and escalates concerns as appropriate. Follows up on all patient concerns in a timely manner. Demonstrates caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening through dialogue, body language, and actions. Oversees the development and implementation of the nursing education budget. Maintains, reviews, and evaluates educational record-keeping and reporting systems. Conducts and participates in meetings related to the area of assignment. Engages in research activities related to education, healthcare management, and clinical practice. Acts as a clinical leader who supports nursing practice and an environment of care that reflects clinical excellence. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on age-specific criteria. Identifies physical, behavioral, and emotional characteristics typical for different age groups.
